Leeke Griffin
Leeke Griffin is a dancer with AIVDT, and a graduate from WAAPA.
Leeke Griffin was born in Sydney and attended Newtown High School of Performing Arts for dance. She has a background in Irish dancing and athletics, competing in both at a state level. She is currently in her final year at Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Edith Cowan University studying a Bachelor of Arts (Dance). Leeke has worked with a wide range of choreographers including Nanette Hassall, Michael Whaites and Umesh Shetty. Leeke has performed regularly at the Geoff Gibbs Theatre, Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts and the Seymour Centre in Sydney. Most recently Leeke performed in a remounting of Birdbrain by ex-ADT dancer Anton. She also undertook secondment at the Australian Dance Theatre in July.Leeke’s training has been focused in contemporary and ballet which has expanded over the past three years to include improvisation, duo, circus, aerial/gymnastic work, Indian dance and yoga. Leeke is highly motivated to develop a wider contemporary dance audience in Western Australia.
